The aim of the Karatay Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance is to publish original scientific research on Islamic economic history, the applications of Islamic economics, Islamic commercial law, Islamic finance, participation banking, and macro and microeconomics from an Islamic perspective, thereby contributing to the literature in these fields.

The Karatay Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance, published by the Department of Islamic Economics and Finance at KTO Karatay University, is an international peer-reviewed journal issued biannually. It accepts original articles prepared in Turkish and English. The journal covers original scientific research in the field of Islamic economics and finance, encompassing critical and evaluative studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods, as well as original ideas and model proposals.

1. The Karatay Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance (KARJIEF), published by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of KTO Karatay University, is a peer-reviewed journal that is published twice a year.
2. Articles to be published must be related to the field of Islamic economics and finance. They should be research-based and original, and should not have been published on any platform before.
3. Papers presented at scientific meetings may be considered for publication if they have not been published in another journal or conference proceedings. Articles published in proceedings or elsewhere will not be published under any circumstances.
4. The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English.
5. For articles written in Turkish or English, the Turkish title, the English title, abstracts in both languages (250-300 words), and 3 to 5 keywords must be included at the beginning of the article.
6. The bibliography should be included at the end of the work according to the APA style.
7. For works submitted as translations, the original text must be sent to the Editorial Board along with the translation. Additionally, written publication permission must be obtained from the author(s) or the copyright holder(s) and submitted to the Editorial Board.
8. If the articles are accepted for publication, all publication rights, including publishing the full text electronically, will belong to KARJIEF.
9. Page layout: 6 cm from the top and bottom; 4.5 cm from the sides. Articles prepared in this manner should generally not exceed 35 pages. The text and footnotes should be justified.
10. Text format: Times New Roman, 12-point, single line spacing, first line indented by 1.25 cm, paragraph spacing of 3 nk before and after, and justified alignment. The "Heading 1" style should only be used for the main title. The author's name should be aligned to the right below the main title as "first name LAST NAME," with necessary explanations provided in footnotes marked with an asterisk (*).
11. Main headings: Should be written in all caps and bold.
12. Subheadings: Should be bold, with the first letter of each word capitalized, and a new paragraph should start after the heading.
13. Lower-level headings: Should be bold, with only the first letter of the first word capitalized and a new paragraph should start after the heading.
14. Figures, tables, and photographs: Figures, tables, and photographs should be numbered; numbers and titles should be written below the figures and photographs, and above the tables with only the first letters of the words capitalized. They should be placed within the text in a way that does not cause difficulty in reduction and printing.
15. Citation methods: Citations should be made according to the APA style, considering the 6th edition. In-text citation and bibliography writing should be arranged as follows: In-text citations:
• Citations should be given immediately after the relevant place in parentheses in the order of "author's surname, publication year, 'p.' page number." Example: (Okay, 1990, p. 28)
• For multiple sources, they should be listed in the same parentheses separated by a semicolon, in order from the oldest to the most recent. Example: (Gökyay, 1982, p. 120; Okay, 1990, p. 28)
• For sources with two authors, "and" should be placed between the authors' surnames. Example: (Şafak and Öz, 2003, p. 15)
• For sources with three, four, or five authors, all authors' surnames should be given in the first citation in the text. For subsequent citations of the same source, only the first author's surname followed by "et al." should be used. Examples:
o First citation in the text: (Yılmaz, Esen, Akpınar, and Özcan, 2005, p. 157)
o Subsequent citations: (Yılmaz et al., 2005, p. 157)
• For sources with six or more authors, only the first author's surname should be given in the text. Example: (Demir et al., 2013, p. 28)
• If the author's name is mentioned in the sentence, only the date and page number need to be given in parentheses. Example: (1990, p. 28)
• If the author has two works published in the same year, they should be distinguished by adding a letter to the publication year. Examples: (İlhan, 2003a, p. 25), (İlhan, 2003b, p. 58)
• For works by two different authors with the same surname published in the same year, the initials of the authors' first names should be added after the surname. Examples: (Demir, A., 2003, p. 46), (Demir, H., 2003, p. 27) Or the author's name can be mentioned in the text with only the date and page number in parentheses. Examples: “As mentioned in the works of A. Demir (2003, p. 46) and H. Demir (2003, p. 27), ...”
• When citing an inaccessible publication, the source from which the citation is made should be shown as follows: Example: Köprülü's study (as cited in Çelik, 1998, p. 25)
• When citing a manuscript, the abbreviation "[ms.]" should be placed after the author's name or translator's name, and the folio number should be indicated as in the example, with the full citation given in the bibliography. Example: (Ahmedî [ms.], 1410, 7b)
• When citing archive documents, the abbreviation in the text should be as in the example, with the full form given in the bibliography. Example: (BOA, Mühimme 15, p. 25)
• When citing theses in the text, the order should be (author's surname, date of the thesis, page number). Example: (Küskü, 2019, p. 15)
• Footnotes: Footnotes should only be used for mandatory explanations and should be automatically numbered using the "FOOTNOTE" command. The citations in footnotes should also be formatted as (author's surname, publication year, page number). Example: (Kaya, 2000, p. 15)
• Quotations: Direct quotations in the article should be given in quotation marks, with the source indicated in parentheses at the end of the quotation. Quotations shorter than 40 words should be included within the text, while quotations longer than 40 words should be indented by 1.25 cm from both the right and left margins, given in a block, and still enclosed in quotation marks.
